5:40 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the nomination of Deborah L. Boardman to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland. The nomination was confirmed by a vote of 52-48. Republicans voting aye: Collins and Graham.
5:30 p.m. Senator Moran spoke on the attempt to do away with the filibuster.
5:15 p.m. Senator Gillibrand spoke in support of S. 1520, the Military Justice Improvement Act.
5:05 p.m. Senator Inhofe spoke about the takeover of government networks by Legato Networks.
4:55 p.m. Senator Cardin spoke in support of the Boarman nomination.
4:45 p.m. Senator Cornyn also spoke on immigration.
4:40 p.m. Senator Scott spoke about the Biden administration’s policy on immigration and illegal border crossings.
4:30 p.m. Senator Peters spoke in support of the Carnahan and Easterling nominations. He asked unaniomous concent that Carnahan be confirmed.
4:20 p.m. Senator Scott spoke on the inconveniences to parents of children that refuse to wear masks on planes. He offered a bill that would eliminate the need to wear a mask on places. Senator Lee followed with support for the measure.
4:15 p.m. Senator Toomey offered an amendment to HR 1652. Senator Durbin objected.
4:10 p.m. Senator Whitehouse also spoke on the need to increase the crimes victim’s fund.

3:00 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the Motion to Invoke Cloture on the nomination of Executive Calendar #172, Deborah Boardman to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland. the motion was agreed to by 52-48.
2:30 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about climate change and the future of electric vehicles.
2:20 p.m. Leader McConnell spoke about Biden’s relationship with Putin, the climate lobby and infrastructure lobbyist.
2:00 p.m. Leader Schumer spoke about the disgrace Republicans didn’t vote to begin debate on voting rights for all Americans. He also touched on the need to confirm judges, infrastructure talks and a budget resolution.
The Senate will convene at 2:00 p.m. and resume consideration of the nomination of Executive Calendar #172, Deborah Boardman to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.
At 3:00 p.m. the Senate will vote on cloture on the Boardman nomination.
If cloture is invoked, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Boardman nomination at 5:45 p.m., followed by a cloture vote on Executive Calendar #128, Candace Jackson-Akiwumi to be United States Circuit Judge for the 7th Circuit.
