The Senate convened for a pro forma session at 12:00 noon. No business was conducted and Senator Moreno presided.
The Senate will return for business on Monday, September 29th at 3:00 p.m. At that time, following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S.2296, the National Defense Authorization Act; (NDAA).
At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on cloture on the nomination of Michael Waltz to be Representative of the US to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations during his tenure of service as Representative to the United Nations.
If cloture is invoked, upon the use of yielding back of time, the Senate will proceed to two votes:
- Confirmation of the Waltz nomination.
- Cloture on the motion to proceed to S.2806, a bill from Senator Johnson to provide for automatic continuing appropriations.
Additional votes are possible.
