6:37 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will reconvene at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4. They will resume consideration of Cal. #262-Maria Lanahan to be a District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. At 11:30 a.m. they will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Lanahan nomination. Following that vote the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Cal. #291-Edward Artau to be a District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. If cloture is invoked on both nominations the Senate will vote on confirmation at a time to be determined but no earlier than Monday, September 8.
Following the cloture vote on the Artau nomination the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R. 2296, the Defense Authorization. All post cloture time will expire at 1:45 p.m. and the Senate will vote on the motion to proceed.
