6:53 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Luke Pettit to be Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, post-cloture.
At 11:30 a.m. – two roll call votes:
- Confirmation of the Pettit nomination.
- Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Anthony J. Tata to be Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness.
Following the vote, the Senate will recess for weekly caucus lunches.
At 2:15 p.m., the Official Photo for the 119th Congress will take place.
Following the photo, the Senate will reconvene, and if cloture is invoked on the Tata nomination, the Senate will then vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the Tata nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Joseph Edlow, to be Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security.
If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 2 hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the Edlow nomination. Additional roll call votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.

6:07 p.m. By a vote of 46-42, the Senate confirmed Whitney D. Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit. It was a party line vote. Senators Curtis, Fetterman, Lee, McCormick, Murkowski, Murray, Paul, Rosen, Rounds, Slotkin, Sullivan, and Welch did not vote.
5:30 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of Whitney Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.
