8:03 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to en bloc consideration of S.J. Res. 23, Critical Habitat CRA and S.J. Res. 24, Northern Long-Eared Bat CRA.

At 11:00 a.m. the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

  1. Adoption of S.J. Res. 23, Critical Habitat CRA
  2. Adoption of S. J. Res. 24, Northern Long-Eared Bat CRA

Following disposition of the resolutions, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of the nomination of Bradley N. Garcia, to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit, and will immediately recess subject to the Call of the Chair to allow for a special Democratic Caucus meeting.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. the Senate will proceed to one roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Bradley N. Garcia to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.

6:57 p.m. Senator Bennet asked unanimous consent for the Senate to confirm the following military promotions en bloc: Executive Calendar #46-52, 82-107, 110-113, and 130-139. Senator Tuberville objected.

6:25 p.m. Senator Van Hollen spoke on the debt limit.

6:24 p.m. By a vote of 51-47, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Geeta Rao Gupta to be Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues. Republicans voting in favor: Senators Collins and Murkowski. Senator Manchin voted against. Senators Cramer & Feinstein did not vote.

5:28 p.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the nomination of Geeta Gupta to be Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues.

5:21 p.m. Senator Cruz spoke on the Chinese detainment of Mark Swindan. Senator Cruz asked unanimous consent to call up and agree to S.Res. 23, The resolution was adopted by unanimous consent.

4:59 p.m. Senator Moran spoke on expanding trade in the indo pacific region and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. Senator Moran also honored the life of Gary Doane.

4:48 p.m. Senator Hagerty spoke on Title 42 and Fentanyl. Senator Hagerty asked unanimous consent to call up and pass S. 1192, Stop Fentanyl Border Crossings Act. Senator Sanders objected.

4:17 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Shogan nomination, 52-45. Republicans voting in favor: Capito, Collins and Murkowski. Senators not voting: Gillibrand, Sanders and Tuberville.

3:20 p.m. The Senate began a vote on confirmation of the nomination of Colleen Shogan to be Archivist of the US.

3:19 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Wright Gallo nomination, 52-44. Republicans voting in favor: Collins, Murkowski and Romney. Senators not voting: Budd, Gillibrand, Sanders and Tuberville.

2:30 p.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the nomination of Glenna Wright-Gallo to be Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education.

2:27 p.m. Senator Peters spoke in favor of the Shogan nomination.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from the recess. Senator Carper spoke in favor of the Shogan nomination and later on two upcoming CRA resolutions; SJ Res 23 and 24.

1:22 p.m. The Senate stands in recess to accommodate the weekly caucus luncheons.

1:21 p.m. By a vote of 52-45, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Glenna Laureen Wright-Gallo to be Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education.

12:28 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #55 Glenna Laureen Wright-Gallo to be Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education.

12:27 p.m. By a vote of 52-45 the Senate confirmed L. Felice Gorordo to be US Alternate Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction & Development. Senators Collins, Romney and Young voted in favor.

Not voting: Senators Feinstein, Gillibrand and Tuberville.

11:31 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of L. Felice Gorordo to be United States Alternate Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

11:14 a.m. Senator Thune spoke about the debt limit.

10:45 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about ALS and proposed cuts in medical research funding.

10:37 a.m. Senator McConnell spoke about the debt limit and also about endangered species act. He also paid tribute to former Louisville basketball coach Denny Crum.

10:19 a.m. ML Schumer spoke on the debt limit and also about the holds on military nominations.
