6:57 p.m. ML Schumer began wrap up:

  • Adopted S.Res.110 Honoring the life and legacy of former Senator Abourezk, by unanimous consent
  • Adopted S.Res.111 Recognizing the importance of maple syrup production to Maine and designating March 26, 2023 as Maine Maple Sunday, by unanimous consent.
  • Adopted S.Res.112 Designating the week of February 27-March 3, 2023 as Public Schools Week, by unanimous consent.

6:55 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the Taylor-Kale nomination, 68-26.

6:14 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Laura Taylor-Kale to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

6:13 p.m. By a vote of 65-29, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Ravi Chaudhary to be an Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

5:17 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of Ravi Chaudhary to be an Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

5:10 p.m. Senator Padilla spoke on Judicial nominations.

4:50 p.m. Senator Warnock spoke on the two year anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings and asked for a moment of silence.

4:43 p.m. Senator Duckworth paid tribute to Judith Heumann and then spoke on Thailand.

Republicans voting in favor: Boozman, Capito, Collins, Cornyn, Graham, Grassley, Hyde-Smith, Kennedy, Moran, Murkowski, Romney, Rounds, Sullivan, Thune, Tillis, & Wicker. 2:59 p.m. The Senate began voting on cloture on the nomination of Ravi Chaudhary to be an Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

2:58 p.m. The Garcetti nomination was confirmed, 52-42.
Republicans voting in favor: Senators Collins, Cassidy, Daines, Graham, Hagerty, Marshall, & Young.
Democrats voting against: Senators Brown, Hirono, & Kelly.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from recess and began voting on confirmation of the Garcetti nomination.

1:21 p.m. ML Schumer spoke supporting the Garcetti nomination and the Senate recessed until 2:15 p.m.

1:20 p.m. By a vote of 52-42, the Senate invoked cloture on Eric Garcetti to be Ambassador to the Republic of India

Republicans voting in favor: Senators Collins, Cassidy, Daines, Graham, Hagerty, Marshall, & Young.

Democrats voting against: Senators Brown, Hirono, & Kelly.

12:24 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #65 Eric M. Garcetti to be Ambassador to the Republic of India.

12:23 p.m. By a vote of 54-40, the Senate confirmed the Neiman nomination.

11:30 a.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of Brent Neiman to be a Deputy Under Secretary of the Treasury.

11:11 a.m. Senator Kennedy spoke about the Silicon Valley Bank Crash.

10:58 a.m. Senator Kaine spoke about International Long Covid Awareness Day.

10:44 a.m. Senator Thune spoke about inflation and the Presidents budget.

10:22 a.m. ML Schumer spoke about rail safety, H.R. 1, Russia and the AUMF repeal.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and following any leader remarks, will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #62 Brent Neiman to be a Deputy Under Secretary of the Treasury.

 At 11:30 a.m. the Senate will proceed to two votes:
1. Confirmation of the Neiman nomination.
2. Cloture on Executive Calendar #65 Eric Garcetti to be Ambassador to India.

Following the cloture vote the Senate will recess for the party luncheons. 

At 2:15 p.m. the Senate will proceed to two votes:
1. Confirmation of the Garcetti nomination.
2. Coture on Executive Calendar #2 Ravi Chaudhary to be an Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.

At 5:15 p.m. the Senate will proceed to two votes:
1. Confirmation of the Chaudhary nomination.
2. Cloture on Executive Calendar #18 Laura Taylor-Kale to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.
