8:09 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will reconvene at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #312, Robert Luis Santos, of Texas, to be Director of the Census for a term expiring December 31, 2026.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Executive Calendar #352, Michael Connor, of Colorado, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Army and vote on confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Santos nomination.

If cloture is invoked on the Santos nomination, at approximately 1:45pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.

The following nominations were confirmed by voice vote:

  • Thomas R. Nides to be Ambassador to Israel
  • Adrienne Wojciechowski to be Assistant Secretary of Agriculture
  • Michael Carpenter to U.S. Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
