7:03 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will reconvene at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 11. They will resume consideration of the motion to discharge from the Finance Committee the nomination of Xavier Bacerra to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. A vote on the motion to discharge will occur at 12:00 noon. There will be a cloture vote on the nomination of Deb Haaland to be Secretary of Interior at 1:30 p.m.

6:40 p.m. Sullivan spoke about the Regan nomination.

6:07 p.m. Senator Schumer made a motion to discharge the nomination of Xavier Bacerra from the Senate Finance Committee. There will be four hours of debate. The vote on the motion to discharge will occur at 12:00 noon on Thursday.

6:05 p.m. By a vote of 66-34 the Regan nomination was confirmed. Republicans voting aye: Braun, Burr, Collins, Cramer, Fischer, Graham, Grassley, Hyde-Smith, Lee, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, Rounds, Rubio, Tillis, Wicker.

5:15 p.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the Regan nomination.

4:17 p.m. Senator Burr spoke about the Regan nomination.

2:50 p.m. The Senate began voting on cloture on the nomination of Michael Regan to be EPA Administrator.

2:47 p.m. By a vote of 70-30 the Garland nomination was confirmed. Republicans voting aye: Blunt, Burr, Capito, Cassidy, Collins, Cornyn, Ernst, Graham, Grassley, Inhofe, Johnson, Lankford, McConnell, Moran, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, Rounds, Thune, Tillis.

2:15 p.m. The Senate reconvened and began voting on the Garland nomination to be Attorney General.

12:44 p.m. The Senate recessed until 2:15 p.m.

12:38 p.m. By a vote of 66-34 the Fudge nomination was confirmed. Republicans voting aye: Blunt, Capito, Collins, Cramer, Graham, Grassley, Hoeven, McConnell, Moran, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, Rounds, Scott (SC), Sullivan, Young.

12:00 p.m. The Senate began voting to confirm Marcia Fudge to be Secretary of HUD.

11:18 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke about immigration.

10:59 a.m. Senator Thune spoke about Senator Blunt’s decision not to seek reelection. He spoke about Democratic tactics on the Covid relief bill.

10:38 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about immigration.

10:28 a.m. Minority Leader McConnell spoke about his support for the Garland, Fudge and other Biden administration nominations.

10:12 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke about the Fudge, Garland and Regan nominations. He spoke about the Covid relief package.

By consent, the Senate passed S. Res. 102, recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Hoosier Gem.

The Senate will convene at 10 a.m. and will resume consideration of the nomination of Marcia Fudge to be Secretary of HUD.

At noon, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Fudge nomination.

At 2:15 p.m., there will be two votes:

1. Confirmation of Merrick Brian Garland’s nomination to be attorney general

2. Cloture on the nomination of Michael Regan to be Administrator of the EPA.

If cloture is invoked, the confirmation vote on the Regan nomination will occur at about 5:45 p.m.

Cloture will ripen Thursday on the nomination of Debra Haaland to be secretary of the Interior Department.
