10:50 p.m. The Senate adjourned. The Senate will meet on Thursday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m., at 12 Noon, the Senate will vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #635 Holly A. Thomas to be United States Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit.

10:49 p.m. ML Schumer began wrap up and asked consent that H.R.5746, the vehicle for the voting rights legislation no longer be the pending Senate business. Agreed to by unanimous consent.

ML Schumer asked that the nomination of Arun Venkataraman be jointly referred to the committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and the Committee on Science, Commerce and Transportation.
