6:33 p.m. Senator Daines paid tribute to Montanan John Quintrell on his efforts to connect Vietnam veterans.

6:19 p.m. Senator Collins spoke on voting rights and the filibuster.

6:00 p.m. Senator Rick Scott spoke on Cuba and asked UC to take up and pass S Res 489 on that topic. Senator Menendez discussed regular order in the Senate, but did not object.

5:51 p.m. Senator Thune spoke on voting rights and the filibuster.

5:50 p.m. By a vote of 52-47, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Gabriel P. Sanchez to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit.

GOP voting Aye: Collins, Graham, and Murkowski. Senator Schatz did not vote.

4:34 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of Gabriel P. Sanchez to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit.

4:34 p.m. By a vote of 68-29, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Amitabha Bose to be Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration.

GOP voting Aye: Barrasso, Blunt, Burr, Capito, Cassidy, Collins, Fischer, Graham, Grassley, Lummis, Moran, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, Rounds, Sullivan, Thune, Tillis, Toomey, Wicker, and Young. Senators not voting: Feinstein, Sanders, and Schatz.
