7:41 p.m. Majority Leader wrapped up for the evening. The nomination of Ana Escomba to be Ambassador to Oman by voice vote. The Senate agreed that at a time to be determined before October 26 the Senate proceed to SJ Res 42, a Marshall CRA. S Res 409, 410 and 411 were agreed to by UC en bloc.

6:28 p.m. Senator Schmitt spoke on the appropriations process.

6:26 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Gilbride nomination, 50-46. Senator Collins was the lone Republican in favor. Senators Butler, Durbin, Paul and Scott of South Carolina did not vote.

5:24 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Karla Ann Gilbride to be General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term of four years.

5:18 p.m. Senator Moran spoke about the war in Israel.

5:09 p.m. Senator Murkowski spoke about the war in Israel.

4:58 p.m. Senator Fischer spoke about the war is Israel.

4:47 p.m. Senator Menendez spoke about the war in Israel.

4:30 p.m. Senator Hagerty spoke about Iran. He then asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S. 2210, Iran Sanctions Relief Review Act. Senator Murphy objected.

4:09 p.m. Senator Cotton spoke about the Biden Administration and Iran. He then asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S. 3041, A bill to reinstate certain sanctions imposed with respect to Iran. Senator Welch objected.

4:08 p.m. By a vote of 50-47, the Senate invoked cloture on Karla Ann Gilbride to be General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term of four years.

3:03 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Karla Ann Gilbride to be General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term of four years.

3:01 p.m. By a vote of 52-45, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Julia Kathleen Munley to be US District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Senators Collins, Graham, and Murkowski voted in favor.

1:23 p.m. By a vote of 52-43, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Julia Kathleen Munley to be U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. 12:34 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Julia Kathleen Munley to be U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

12:31 p.m. By a vote of 67-29, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Jennifer Hall to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Delaware.

11:32 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of Jennifer L. Hall to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Delaware.

11:30 a.m. Senator Coons spoke supporting the nomination of Jennifer Hall to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Delaware.

11:19 a.m. Senator Carper spoke supporting the nomination of Jennifer Hall to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Delaware.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume post-cloture consideration of the nomination of Jennifer L. Hall to be United States District Judge for the District of Delaware.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of Jennifer L. Hall to be United States District Judge for the District of Delaware.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Julia Kathleen Munley to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Following the vote on the Munley nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly caucus luncheons.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of Julia Kathleen Munley to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (if cloture is invoked).
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Karla Ann Gilbride to be General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term of four years.

If cloture is invoked on the Gilbride nomination, the Senate is expected to proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation during today’s session.
