7:10 p.m. Senators Wicker, Portman and Blumenthal continued to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

7:06 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer wrapped up for the evening. Confirmed by UC en bloc: Exec Cal # 420, 421, 423, 472 and 784.

7:01 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer achieved UC to take p and pass S Res 546, a resolution condemning Putin for war crimes and calling for an ICC investigation.

6:44 p.m. Senators Portman and Wicker spoke on Ukraine.

6:30 p.m. Senator Whitehous spoke about the Supreme Court and political donations.

6:29 p.m. The Joint resolution was agreed to 57-40. Democrats voting in favor: Bennet, Cortez-Masto, Hassan, Kelly, Manchin, Sinema and Tester. Republican voting against: Romney. Not voting: 3 Democrats: Duckworth, Menendez and Shaheen.

5:31 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on S.J.Res.37, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relating to “Requirement for Persons To Wear Masks While on Conveyances and at Transportation Hubs.

5:00 p.m. Senator Paul spoke in opposition to S .J. Res 37.

4:45 p.m. Senator Kaine spoke in opposition to S .J. Res 37.

4:45 p.m. the Senate will proceed to the consideration of S.J.Res.37, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relating to “Requirement for Persons To Wear Masks While on Conveyances and at Transportation Hubs.

4:00 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the nomination of Shalanda D. Young to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget. the nomination was confirmed by a vote of 61-36.

3:00 p.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on American energy and the high price of gas.

2:18 p.m. Senators Rubio, Markey, Whitehouse, Murray and Tubervillespoke on S. 623.

2:17 p.m. Senator Rubio achieved UC to take up and pass S. 623 regarding permanent daylight savings time.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from recess. Senator Whitehouse achieved UC to withdraw cloture on the Grundmann nomination, and move the vote on SJ Res 37 to 5:30 p.m.

12:31 p.m. The Senate recessed until 2:15 p.m.

12:19 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on gas prices.

11:41 a.m. Senator Blackburn spoke about the omnibus.

11:30 a.m. Senator Ernst spoke on the crisis in Ukraine and the images of war that are changing the world.

11:20 a.m. Senator Thune spoke on the anniversary of the American rescue plan and subsequent covid relief bills.

10:53 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the SCOTUS nomination and Ukraine.

10:43 a.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke on Ukraine, inflation, and the SCOTUS nomination.

10:17 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke on nominations and Ukraine.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration the nomination of Shalanda Young, to be Director of OMB, post-cloture.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

All post-cloture time on the Young nomination will expire at 4:00 p.m.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., there will be up to 3 roll call votes on the following items:

1.      Confirmation of Shalanda D. Young to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget

2.      Motion to invoke cloture on Susan Grundmann, to be a Member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority for a term of five years expiring July 1, 2025

3.      Roll call vote in relation to S.J.Res.37, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relating to “Requirement for Persons To Wear Masks While on Conveyances and at Transportation Hubs”.

If cloture is invoked on the Grundmann nomination, the confirmation vote would be expected to occur during Wednesday’s session.
