4:10 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke against the Zinke nomination.

2:48 p.m. Senator Carper spoke against the Zinke nomination.

2:15 p.m. Senator McCaskill spoke about historically black colleges and universities and Ina Boone.

12:00 p.m. The Senate stands in recess until 2:15 p.m. to accommodate the weekly caucus lunches.

11:39 a.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about the President’s Joint Address.

11:10 a.m. Senator Cantwell spoke about the Zinke nomination.

10:11 a.m. DL Schumer spoke on the Presidents joint address this evening.

10:02 a.m. ML McConnell spoke on the state of the economy and the expected remarks at the joint address this evening.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of  Ryan Zinke to be Secretary of the Interior, post-cloture.

Please note, Senators will begin gathering in the Senate Chamber at 8:20 pm to proceed as a body to the House Chamber for the Joint Session of Congress. The Joint Session of Congress begins at 9:00 pm.
