3:28 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned untill Monday, September 18th at 3:00 p.m. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R. 4366, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

At 5:30 p.m. The Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture of Vernon D. Oliver, of Connecticut, to Be United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut

1:43 p.m. Senator Warner spoke about Intelligence Committee departing staffer Mike Casey.

1:26 p.m. Senator Brown spoke about unions.

12:46 p.m. Senators Sanders and Marshall spoke on health care.

12:31 p.m. Senator Murray spoke on the appropriations bill.

12:27 p.m. Senator Boozman spoke on the minibus, specifically the Veterans Affairs and military construction appropriations.

12:12 p.m. Senators Collins and Murray expressed frustration with Senator Johnsons objection.

12:10 p.m. Senator Murray asked UC to lock in a list of ten amendments to vote on. Senator Johnson objected.

11:43 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer introduced substitute amendment #1092 and Senator Murray introduced amendment #1205 to amendment #1092.

11:43 a.m. By a vote of 91-7, the Senate agreed to the Motion to Proceed to H.R.4366, the military construction, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

  • Senators Duckworth and Lujan did not vote
  • Senators Braun, Cruz, Hawley, Lummis, Ricketts, Schmitt, and Scott (FL) voted no.

10:33 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to proceed to H.R.4366, the military construction, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

10:32 a.m. Senator Murry spoke on the motion to proceed to the appropriations bill.

10:23 a.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke on defense spending of European allies and paid tribute to Mike Duncan.

10:10 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke on AI, appropriations, and military promotions.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R.4366, the military construction, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

We expect a vote on the motion to proceed to begin at approximately 10:30 a.m.
