10:02 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell paid tribute to President Pro Tempore Hatch, who yesterday became longest-serving Republican senator in history. He spoke about the swearing-in of Alabama’s new senator, Luther Strange, and about the Price and Mnuchin nominations.

The Senate will convene at 10 a.m.

After leader remarks, the Senate will resume post-cloture debate on the nomination of Representative Thomas Price to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

At 2 p.m., Luther Strange will be sworn in as the new senator from Alabama.

If all time is used, the confirmation vote on Price will occur at about 1:45 a.m. Friday. A cloture vote could follow on the nomination of Steven Mnuchin to be Secretary of the Treasury.
