Agreed to by unanimous consent: S.Con.Res. 12 – Authorizing the use of Emancipation Hall for a ceremony to present the Congressional Gold Medal to the U.S. Army Ranger veterans of WWII.

Adopted the following resolutions en bloc by unanimous consent:

  • S.Res.200 – National Day of Awarness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls
  • S.Res. 201 – National Small Business Week
  • S.Res. 202 – Community College Month

6:27 p.m. Senator Warren spoke on the Genius Act.

6:26 p.m. By a vote of 51-43, the Senate agreed to the motion to proceed to H.J.Res.61, Scott (SC) Rubber Tires CRA.

Senators Kaine and Warner voted in favor.

Not voting: Senators Cruz, Fetterman, Murkowski, Murray, Risch, and Young.

5:29 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to proceed to H.J. Res. 61, the Scott (SC) Rubber Tires CRA.

5:20 p.m. Senator Fischer spoke on her FACT Act, the Foreign Adversary Communications Transparency Act.

4:43 p.m. Senator Warren spoke on social security.

4:30 p.m. Senator Cornyn asked unanimous consent for committees to meet during today’s session of the Senate. He then responded to Democrats complaints about DOGE efforts and fraud in social security.

4:20 p.m. Senator Whitehouse spoke on social security.

4:15 p.m. Leader Schumer spoke about small business owners and the detrimental effects the Trump tariffs are having on their businesses.

3:38 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about USAID.

3:17 p.m. Majority Leader Thune received unanimous consent for S. 1582, A bill to provide for the regulation of payment stablecoins, and for other purposes, to be placed on the calendar under Rule 14. He then spoke on small businesses.

3:01 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on medical student Match Day.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks will be in a period of Morning Business.

We expect the majority to make a motion to proceed to H.J.Res.61, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Rubber Tire Manufacturing”.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate is expected to proceed to a vote on the motion to proceed to H.J.Res.61.

At a time to be determined on Tuesday, May 6, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination of Frank Bisignano to be Commissioner of the Social Security Administration.
