7:17 p.m. The Senate stands in recess until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Steven Bradbury to be Deputy Secretary of Transportation.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. – one roll call vote:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the Bradbury nomination

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess to allow for weekly caucus lunches.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. – two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of the Bradbury nomination (if cloture is invoked)
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Abigail Slater to be an Assistant Attorney General

At 5:15 p.m. – one roll call vote:

  1. Confirmation of the Slater nomination (if cloture is invoked)

During wrap-up:

6:53 p.m. Senator Moreno spoke on immigration. He then asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S.200 – RULES Act. Senator Hirono objected. Senator Moreno then asked for S.200 to be placed on the calendar. Senator Hirono objected.

6:53 p.m. Majority Leader Thune filed cloture on the following:

  • Keith Sonderling to be Deputy Secretary of Labor
  • Stephen Miran to be Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

6:50 p.m. The Senate agreed to the motion to proceed to S.331, HALT Fentanyl Act., by voice vote.

6:49 p.m. By a vote of 67-32, the Senate confirmed Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be Secretary of Labor. Senator Fetterman did not vote. Republican senators voting No: Budd, McConnell and Paul.

5:30 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the confirmation of the nomination of Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be Secretary of Labor.

5:05 p.m. Senator Hirono spoke on Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.

4:33 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about the Department of Government Efficiency.

3:24 p.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on the filibuster.

3:05 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on trade policy and then on the Bosnian Genocide.

3:00 p.m. The Senate has convened and has proceeded to executive session to resume consideration of the Chavez-DeRemer nomination to be Secretary of Labor.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and resume consideration of the nomination of Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be Secretary of Labor.

The Senate will have two roll call votes today at approx. 5:30 p.m.:
1. Confirmation of the Chavez-DeRemer nomination.
2. Motion to proceed to S. 331, the HALT Fentanyl Act.
