6:32 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1035, Nina Nin-Yuen Wang, of Colorado, to be United States District Judge for the District of Colorado, post-cloture.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Wang nomination and cloture on the Maldonado nomination.

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

If cloture is invoked on the Maldonado nomination, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination.

During Tuesday’s session, the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of the Childs nomination (DC Circuit) and moving to the Message for consideration of the CHIPS legislation.

6:20 p.m. Senator Scott of Florida spoke on the July 11, 2021 protests in Cuba against the totalitarian regime.

6:20 p.m. By a vote of 52-33 the Senate invoked cloture on Executive Calendar #1035 Nina Nin-Yuen Wang to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Colorado.

Republicans voting in favor: Senators Blunt, Burr, Collins, Grassley, Murkowski, Portman, Rounds and Tillis.

Not voting: Senators Barrasso, Brown, Cardin, Fischer, Graham, Hoeven, Kennedy, Leahy, Merkley, Moran, Murray, Schatz, Shelby, Toomey and Tuberville.

5:30 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Nina Nin-Yuen Wang to be United States District Judge for the District of Colorado.

5:26 p.m. Senator Bennet spoke supporting the Wang nomination.

4:51 p.m. Senator Blackburn spoke on inflation and the Biden Administration.

4:31 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on USICA and Chips legislation.

3:54 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke about inflation.

3:31 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about drug costs, abortion access and the CDC.

3:32 p.m. RL McConnell spoke about inflation and the Biden Administration.

3:11 p.m. ML Schumer spoke about CHIPS. He then filed cloture on the following nominations:
– Executive Calendar #989 Gregory Brian Williams to be United States District Judge for the District of Delaware.
– Executive Calendar #971 Natasha C. Merle to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any leader remarks, will resume consideration of the nomination of Nina Nin-Yuen Wang to be United States District Judge for the District of Colorado, with a cloture vote on the nomination at 5:30 p.m.

Cloture has also been filed on the nomination of Nancy Maldonado to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

At a time to be determined, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the following nominations:
Cathy Harris to be Chairman of the Merit Systems Protection Board.
Bernadette Meehan to be Ambassador to the Republic of Chile.
Julianna Childs to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.
