The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #19 Radha Iyengar Plumb, of New York, to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, post-cloture.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Plumb nomination and cloture on the Solomon nomination (Assistant Attorney General).

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At approximately 2:15pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Solomon nomination (Assistant Attorney General) and cloture on Calendar #28, S.870, Fire Grants and Safety Act.

Additional roll call votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.

5:30 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on the motion to invoke cloture on of Executive Calendar #19 Radha Plumb to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.

4:45 p.m. Senator Blackburn spoke on Biden’s lack of accountability for the withdrawal in Afghanistan.

4:15 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on Senator Feinstein’s absence on the Judiciary committee and the complications it has created for the Senate.

3:25 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the attempt to ban medication to end pregnancy.

3:09 p.m. ML Schumer spoke on Senator Fetterman’s return and on the debt ceiling.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks, will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #19 Radha Plumb to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on cloture on the Plumb nomination.

Cloture has been filed on the following:

1. Executive Calendar #57 Amy Solomon to be an Assistant Attorney General

2. S.870, to amend the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to authorize appropriations for the United States Fire Administration and firefighter assistance grant programs.
