12:17 p.m. Senator Cantwell spoke against oil and natural gas drilling in the outer continental shelf.

12:04 p.m. Senator Schumer spoke about President Trump’s broken promises during his first 100 days.

11:59 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell moved to consider H.J.Res. 99, further continuing appropriations for FY 2017 and passed the bill by voice vote. McConnell announced no further votes this week and filed cloture on the nomination of Jay Clayton, of New York, to be Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission. When the Senate adjourns today, it adjourns until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1st. Following Leader remarks the Senate will resume consideration of the Clayton nomination. The next vote will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 1st on the motion to invoke cloture on the Clayton nomination.

11:57 a.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke about remaining issues with the government funding legislation.

11:41 a.m. Senator Leahy spoke about the pending government funding legislation.

11:00 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about the pending government funding legislation that will be passed sometime before the evening.
