12:35 p.m. The Larsen nomination was confirmed by a vote of  60 to 38.   Democrats voting YEA: Carper, Donnelly, Heitkamp,  Manchin, Nelson, Peters, Stabenow and Warner.

Not voting: McCaskill and Menendez.

11:59 a.m. The vote began on confirmation of the Larsen nomination.

11:29 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke about government regulation and about the Larsen nomination.

11:21 a.m. Senator Hassan spoke about the New York City massacre and about health care. She spoke about judicial nominations.

11:12 a.m. Senator Murray spoke about health care.

10:50 a.m. Senator Blumenthal spoke on the recent indictments.

10:20 a.m. Senator Barasso spoke on nominations.

10:13 a.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on the New York attack, and President Trumps reaction.

10:03 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke briefly about the incident in New York, before turning to discuss the accomplishments of the 115th Congress; and later the Larsen nomination.

The Senate meets at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #369, Joan Larsen, of Michigan, to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit, post-cloture. By consent, at 11:30 AM there will be 30 minutes of post-cloture time remaining on the nomination, equally divided. Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Larsen nomination and the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Allison Eid (10th Circuit).
