8:10 p.m. By a vote of 50-48, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Nancy Abudu to be United States Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit.

Senator Manchin voted no.

Not voting: Senators Mullin and Rubio.

6:00 p.m. The Senate began voting on cloture on the nomination of Mancy Abudu to be a Circuit Judge for the 11th circuit.

5:59 p.m. SJ Res 18 was agreed to 50-47. Democrats in favor: Manchin and Tester. Senators not voting: Coons, Melendez and Mullin.

4:53 p.m. The Senate is now voting on passage of S.J.Res. 18.

4:44 p.m. Senator Marshall speaks in support S.J.Res.18

4:05 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about social media and child safety and in opposition of S.J.Res.18.

4:04 p.m. By a vote of 63-33, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Darrel Papillion to be U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

3:19 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #177 Darrel James Papillion to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

3:18 p.m. By a vote of 56-40, the Senate confirmed Jeremy Daniel to be US District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Republicans voting in favor: Senators Collins, Graham, Kennedy, McConnell, Murkowski, Rounds, Tillis and Young

Not voting: Senators Coons, Feinstein, Menendez and Mullin.

2:22 p.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the nomination of Jeremy C. Daniel to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

1:22 p.m. Senator Hickenlooper spoke on space command and Senator Tuberville’s hold on nominations

1:14 p.m. Senator Rosen returned to speak on police week.

1:05 p.m. Senator Cortez-Masto spoke on nominations and police week.

12:52 p.m. Senator Rosen spoke on Senator Tuberville’s hold on military nominations. She asked UC to take up and confirm the nomination of several Air Force nominations on the Executive Calendar. Senator Tuberville objected.

12:37 p.m. Senator Booker spoke on the Police Officer Memorial and police week.

12:36 p.m. The Senate invoked cloture on the Daniel nomination, 57-39.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of Jeremy C. Daniel to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. – 1 roll call vote:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the Daniel nomination.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. – 2 roll call votes:

  • Confirmation of the Daniel nomination (if invoked)
  • Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #177 Darrel James Papillion to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

If cloture is invoked on the Papillion nomination, the confirmation vote will occur at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader following consultation with the Republican Leader.

Following the Papillion cloture vote, the Senate will resume Legislative session and proceed to the consideration of, S.J.Res.18, disapproving of the rule submitted by the Department of Homeland Security relating to “Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility”.
