At 11:30 a.m. – 1 vote:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jose Javier Rodriguez to be an Assistant Secretary of Labor, upon reconsideration.

At 2:00 p.m. – 2 votes:

  1. Confirmation of the Rodriguez nomination (if cloture is invoked).
  2. Passage of S.J. Res. 62, CRA relating to the importation of Fresh Beef From Paraguay.

Following disposition of S.J. Res. 62, the Senate will resume Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of Leon Schydlower to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.

5:19 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of Eumi K. Lee to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of California.

5:16 p.m. Senator Padilla spoke in support of the Lee nomination.

5:07 p.m. Senator Braun spoke on national debt. He then asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S. Res. 600, Recognizing the National Debt as a Threat to National Security. There was no objection.

3:00 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote the motion to invoke cloture on Eumi K. Lee to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of California.

2:58 p.m. By a vote of 50-49, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Edward Sunyol Kiel to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey. Party line. Senator Mullin did not vote.

2:15 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of Edward Sunyol Kiel to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

1:12 p.m. The Senate recessed for weekly party lunches.

1:11 p.m. By a vote of 50-48 the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Edward Sunyol Kiel to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey was agreed to. Senator Manchin voted no. Senators Mullin and Wicker did not vote.

12:06 p.m. The Senate began voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Edward Kiel to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

11:51 a.m. Senator Lee spoke about government funding and spending bills. He asked unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to his bill to extend the Continuing Resolution. Senator Murray objected.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and following any Leader remarks will proceed to the consideration of the nomination of Edward Kiel to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

At approximately, 12:00 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a cloture vote on the Kiel nomination.

Following the vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:
1. Confirmation of the Kiel nomination.
2. Cloture on the nomination of Eumi Lee to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of California.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Lee nomination.

At a time to be determined the Senate will vote on confirmation of the following nominations:
