7:15 p.m. Majority Leader Thune wrapped up for the evening. Passed by UC: S Res 262, regarding legal counsel for AOC employee dispute.

UC that the Senate next convene on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.  At that time, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of James O’Neill to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services.

At 11:30 a.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:
1. Confirmation of the O’Neill nomination.|
2. Cloture on the nomination of John Eisenberg to be an Assistant Attorney General.

At 1:45 p.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:
1. Confirmation of the Eisenberg nomination.
2. Cloture on the nomination of Brett Shumate to be an Assistant Attorney General

7:14 p.m. By a vote of 57-38, the Senate confirmed Edward Walsh to be Ambassador to Ireland.

Senators Capito, Cotton, Lummis, Ossoff and Sheehy did not vote.
Democratic/Independent Senators voting in favor – Blumenthal, Fetterman, Kaine, King (I), Klobuchar, Reed, Shaheen, and Warner.

6:41 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Edward Walsh to be Ambassador to Ireland.

6:40 p.m. By a vote of 48-46, the Senate confirmed the Bowman nomination, party line.

  • The vote was party line with Senators Capito, Cotton, Daines, Lankford, Ossoff, and Sheehy not voting.

6:00 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote to confirm the nomination of Michelle Bowman to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

5:26 p.m. Senator Whitehouse spoke on the EPA.

5:11 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the Trump administration.

4:46 p.m. Senator Klobuchar spoke against President Trump’s policies.

4:32 p.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on the budget.

12:21 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Edward Walsh, to be the Ambassador to Ireland.

12:20 p.m. By a vote of 51-46, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Michelle Bowman to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, party line.

  • Senators not voting: Capito, Ossoff, and Sheehy.

11:45 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Michelle Bowman to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years.

11:31 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke on the justice department. He asked unanimous consent for the Senate to proceed to consideration and then vote to confirm the nomination of Patrick Davis to be Assistant Attorney General at Department of Justice. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke against the nomination and objected.

11:09 a.m. Senator Warren spoke on the nomination of Michelle Bowman.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:
1) Cloture on the nomination of Michelle Bowman to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years.
2) Cloture on Executive Calendar #129, Edward Walsh to be Ambassador to Ireland.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Senate will proceed to one vote:

1) Cloture on Executive Calendar #144, James O’Neill to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:
1) Confirmation of the Bowman nomination.
2) Confirmation of the Walsh nomination.
