7:22 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer wrapped up for the evening. S.1 was read for the first time. The following were passed by UC: S Res 248, regarding Tennessee joining the union; passed by voice vote: S Res 273, regarding Great Outdoors Month.

6:24 p.m Senator Portman spoke on the situation at the southern border.

6:04 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on Juneteenth, and later on elections in Iran.

5:51 p.m. Senator Lee spoke on the Idle Isle cafe in Utah.

5:48 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke in support of Senator Gillibrands bill.

5:38 p.m. Senator Gillibrand spoke on sexual assault in the military and asked UC to take up her bill on that topic, S. 1520. Senator Reed objected.

5:31 p.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on the Beaudreau nomination.

5:10 p.m. Senators Scott of Florida and Ernst spoke in support of Israel and asked UC to take up and pass S. 1899 on that topic; Senator Menendez objected.

5:09 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the Beaudreau nomination, 89-9.

4:30 p.m. The Senate began a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Tommy P. Beaudreau to be Deputy Secretary of the Interior.

4:30 p.m. The Senate confirmed the nomination of Lydia Kay Griggsby, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland, 59-39. Senators voting in favor: 46 Democrats, 11 Republicans: Burr, Capito, Collins, Cornyn, Ernst, Graham, Grassley, Murkowksi, Romney, Tillis and Young; 2 Independents: King and Sanders.

Senators voting against: 39 Republicans.

Senators not voting: 2 Democrats: Booker and Peters.

4:00 p.m. The Senate began a vote on confirmation of the nomination of Lydia Kay Griggsby, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.

4:00 p.m. By a vote of 55-43 the Fox nomination was confirmed.

3:15 p.m. The Senate began a vote on confirmation of the nomination of Radhika Fox, of California, to be an Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

3:05 p.m. Senator Manchin spoke supporting the Beaudreau nomination.

2:55 p.m. Senator Carper spoke on the Fox nomination.

1:56 p.m. Senators Blunt, Capito, Grassley, Blackburn, Inhofe, Marshall, Young and Ernst spoke on S. 1.

1:36 p.m. Senator Tuberville spoke on the DOJ and pretrial monetary settlements.

12:55 p.m. The Senate invoked cloture by a vote of 57-41 on the nomination of Lydia Kay Griggsby to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Maryland.

12:14 p.m. The Senate began voting on motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Lydia Kay Griggsby, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.

12:13 p.m. The motion to invoke cloture on the Fox nominations was agreed to by a vote of 55-43. Republican Senators voting yes

11:31 a.m. The Senate began voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Radhika Fox, of California, to be an Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

11:09 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the meeting between President Biden and Vladimir Putin and on Juneteenth.

10:44 a.m. ML Schumer spoke about infrastructure, on the 2002 AUMF and on judicial nominations.

10:30 a.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 10:30 a.m., following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of the nomination of Radhika Fox, of California, to be an Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Fox nomination. Following that vote, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Lydia Kay Griggsby, of Maryland, to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.

If cloture is invoked on either of the nominations, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nominations.
