11:51 a.m. By a vote of 51-46, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Jia M. Cobb to be US District Judge for the District of Columbia.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and following Leader remarks, will resume consideration of the nomination of Jia Cobb to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

  1. Cloture on Executive Calendar #339, Jia Cobb to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.
  2. Cloture on Executive Calendar #342, Karen Williams to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.
  3. Cloture on Executive Calendar #364, Patricia Giles to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Following the cloture vote on the Giles nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At 2:30 p.m. – 2 roll call votes:

  1. Cloture on Executive Calendar #365, Michael Nachmanoff to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.
  2. Cloture on Executive Calendar #366, Sarala Nagala to be United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut.

If cloture is invoked on any of the nominations, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the confirmation votes will occur at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Republican Leader.
