11:25 a.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 14th.

11:24 a.m. Senator Reed began the Rule XIV process on H.R. 2758, Lumbee Recognition Act. Senator Reed got unanimous consent that the November 10th pro forma session be changed to 3:00 p.m.

11:23 a.m. Senator Reed asked unanimous consent to consider the following en bloc: S.Res. 822, to authorize testimony and representation in United States V. Rhodes; S.Res. 823, to authorize testimony and representation in United States V. Grossclose; S.Res. 824, to authorize testimony and representation in United States V. Steele Smith. The resolutions were agreed to en bloc by unanimous consent

11:05 a.m. Senator Reed spoke supporting the NDAA.

11:04 a.m. The Senate agreed to the Motion to proceed to Cal. #467, H.R. 7900, NDAA FY23. Senator Reed called up amendment #5499, the Reed-Inhofe amendment, as modified, to Cal. #467, H.R. 7900.

11:00 a.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 11:00 a.m., upon the conclusion of Morning Business, the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Calendar #467, H.R.7900, National Defense Authorization Act. Following the remarks of Senator Reed or his designee, the Senate will stand adjourned to then convene for pro forma sessions only, with no business being conducted on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, October 14th at 11:30 a.m.;
  • Tuesday, October 18th at 11:30 a.m.;
  • Thursday, October 20th, at 9:00 a.m.;
  • Monday, October 24th at 1:45 p.m.;
  • Thursday, October 27th at12:00 noon;
  • Monday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m.;
  • Thursday, November 3rd at 10:30 a.m.;       
  • Monday, November 7th at 10:30 a.m.; and
  • Thursday, November 10th at 12:00 noon.

When the Senate adjourns on Thursday, November 10th, it will next convene at 3:00pm Monday, November 14th.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1130 Maria del R. Antongiorgi-Jordan, of Puerto Rico, to be United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico.

At approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Antongiorgi-Jordan nomination.
