If Senator Whitehouse or his designee makes a motion to proceed to S.J. Res. 188, the Senate will vote on the motion at 2:15 p.m. tomorrow.

3:05 p.m. By a vote of 52-46, the Senate confirmed the Kuhlman nomination. The vote was party-line with Senators Bennet and Rounds not voting.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from the recess and began voting on confirmation of Jeffrey Kuhlman to be a District Judge for Kansas.

1:03 p.m. The Senate recessed until 2:15 p.m. today.

1:02 p.m. By a vote of 52-46, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Jeffrey Kuhlman to be a District Judge for the District of Kansas.

  • The vote was party-line with Senators Bennet and Rounds not voting.

12:11 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to invoke cloture on Jeffrey M. Kuhlman, of Kansas, to be United States District Judge for the District of Kansas.

12:10 p.m. By a vote of 52-46, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Kathleen Lane to be a District Judge for the District of Montana.

  • The vote was party-line with Senators Bennet and Rounds not voting.

11:16 a.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the nomination of Kathleen Lane to be a District Judge for the District of Montana.

11:12 a.m. Senator Daines spoke in support of the Lane nomination.

10:55 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke on the Mueller investigation.

10:47 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on Memorial Day and paid tribute to Wyoming veterans killed in war and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

10:36 a.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on the nomination of Bill Pulte to be Director of National Intelligence, the “slush fund,” Secretary of State Rubio’s testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today, and artificial intelligence.

10:19 a.m. Majority Leader Thune paid tribute to C-SPAN on the 40th anniversary of C-SPAN 2; and his recent trip around South Dakota.

10:03 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke on C-SPAN -2’s 40th birthday.

10:00 a.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #736, Kathleen S. Lane, of Montana, to be United States District Judge for the District of Montana.

At 11:15 a.m., the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

1) Confirmation of the Lane nomination.

2) Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #743, Jeffrey M. Kuhlman, of Kansas, to be United States District Judge for the District of Kansas.

Following the cloture vote on the Kuhlman nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly conference lunch meetings.

At 2:15 p.m., if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Kuhlman nomination.
