6:42 p.m. Senator Murphy wrapped up for the day. S Res 424, S Res 506 and S Res 507 were passed by unanimous consent. S 3600, HR 3076 and HR 6617 had their first readings.

6:41 p.m. The nomination of Homer Wilkes was confirmed by voice vote.

6:22 p.m. Senator Murphy spoke on Iran.

6:06 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on Ukraine.

5:58 p.m. Senator Brown spoke on trade and China.

5:56 p.m.Majority Leader Schumer filed cloture on the nomination of Max Vekich to be a Federal Maritime Commissioner; and set a vote on the motion to discharge the nomination of Sam Bagenstos to be General Counsel to the Department of Health and Human Services at a time to be determined.

5:55 p.m. The Wong nomination was confirmed 66-31.

At approximately 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of Chantale Yokmin Wong to be United States Director of the Asian Development Bank, with the rank of Ambassador.

2:33 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on confirmation of Amy Gutmann to be Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. The nomination was confirmed 54-42. GOP in favor: Blunt, Collins, Graham, Kennedy, Romney and Toomey. Senators not voting: Barrasso, Feinstein, Lujan and Rounds.

2:15 p.m. Senator Tester spoke in support of Martha Williams to be Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and asked unanimous consent that the Senate confirm her nomination (Executive Calendar #650). Senator Sullivan objected.

1:07 p.m. The Senate recessed until 2:15 for caucus lunches.

12:29 p.m. The Senate is currently voting on confirmation of Loren L. AliKhan to be an Associate Judge of the DC Court of Appeals for a term of 15 years. The nomination was confirmed by a vote of 55-41.

Republicans voting in favor: Blunt, Collins, Graham, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, and Tillis.

Senators not voting: Barrasso, Feinstein, Lujan, and Rounds.

11:40 a.m. The Senate is currently voting on the nomination of John P. Howard, III, of D.C., to be Assistant Judge of the DC Court of Appeals. The nomination was confirmed by a vote of 62-34.

Republicans voting in favor: Blunt, Burr, Capito, Collins, Graham, Hawley, Lankford, Lee, Lummis, Murkowski, Portman, Romney, Tillis, and Toomey.

Senators not voting: Barrasso, Feinstein, Lujan, and Rounds.

10:52 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke on voting rights and the Supreme Court; and January 6th.

10:44 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke on government funding, nominations, and forced arbitration.

10:28 p.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke about the economy and counter-terrorism.

The Senate meets at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #498 Douglas R. Bush, of Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary of the Army.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Howard and AliKhan nominations. Following disposition of the AliKhan nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Gutmann and Carty nominations.
