4:45 p.m. The Senate is in recess until 8:25 p.m. tonight and upon reconvening will proceed as a body to the Hall of the House of Representatives for the Joint Session of Congress. At 9:00 p.m., President Donald Trump will deliver the State of the Union address from the Hall of the House of Representatives in the U.S. Capitol.
Upon dissolution of the joint session, the Senate will stand adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S.47, Natural Resources Management Act, post-cloture.
4:40 p.m. In wrap up Leader McConell asked unanimous consent to adopted Menendez for Risch amendment #98 (classified annex)and by voice vote, adopted Risch amendment #97 (reporting requirement), as amended.
Passed S.49, a bill to designate the outstation of the Department of Veterans Affairs in North Ogden, Utah, as the Major Brent Taylor Vet Center Outstation.
Passed H.R.439, to amend the charter of the Future Farmers of America, and for other purposes.
