5:30 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Georgia Alexakis to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

4:40 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on the national security appropriations.

4:26 p.m. Senator Ernst paid tribute to Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Ralph Puckett, Jr. on his passing and asked for a moment of silence.

3:11 p.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke on protests on college campuses.

3:01 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke on college campus protests, the police killed and wounded in North Carolina yesterday, and paid tribute to Bill Samuel of the AFL-CIO.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any leader remarks will proceed to consideration of the nomination of Georgia Alexakis to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a vote on cloture on the Alexakis nomination.
