5:45 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will reconvene at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12. They will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 722, the Iran Sanctions bill. At 5:00 p.m. they will proceed to Executive Session to consider Kenneth Rapuano to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense. A vote on the nomination will occur at 5:30 p.m followed by a vote on the motion to proceed to S. 722 (likely voice vote). The Senate passed the following during wrap up:

5:04 p.m. Senator Carper spoke about Iran Sanctions.

4:49 p.m. Senator Blunt spoke about Travel and Tourism week.

4:22 p.m. Senator Sullivan spoke about the Alaskan of the week.

4:08 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell asked u.c. that at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12th, the Senate proceed to consideration of Executive Calendar #65, Kenneth Rapuano, to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense. Further, there be 30 minutes of debate on the nomination and that following the use or yielding back of time, the Senate vote on the confirmation of the nomination. Following disposition of the nomination the Senate resume legislative session and consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 722, with all post-cloture time considered expired.

3:46 p.m. Senator Schumer spoke about former Director Comey’s testimony.

3:25 p.m. Senator Hirono spoke about the deportation of Andres Ortiz.

3:01 p.m. Senator Murkowski paid tribute to Sam Bryce and Howard Otis.

2:27 p.m. Senator Lee spoke about abortion.

2:26 p.m. By a vote of 94 to 4, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Scott Brown to be ambassador to New Zealand. NAYS: Democrats Booker, Gillibrand, Harris and Schatz. NOT VOTING: Republican Alexander and Democrat Menendez.

1:40 p.m. The Senate began voting on confirmation of the nomination of Scott Brown to be Ambassador to New Zealand and to serve concurrently as Ambassador to the Independent State of Samoa.

1:01 p.m. Senator Van Hollen spoke about former Director Comey’s testimony and the Russian investigation.

12:48 p.m. Senator McConnell secured consent for a 1:45 p.m. confirmation vote on the nomination of Scott P. Brown of New Hampshire to be ambassador to New Zealand.

10:27 a.m. DL Schumer discussed Director Comey’s testimony and health care.

9:33 a.m. ML McConnell has H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017 read for the second time. He then discussed Iran sanctions and health care.

The Senate convened at 9:30 a.m. Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 722, Iran Sanctions, post-cloture.

Please note, if all post-cloture time is used, the vote on the motion to proceed will be at 4:45 p.m.
