2:28 p.m. By a vote of 47-43, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Justin Smith to be a Circuit Judge for the Eighth Circuit.

  • Senators Bennet, Blackburn, Coons, Graham, Hagerty, Moody, Moran, Rosen, Shaheen, and Tillis did not vote.

1:40 p.m. The Senate began voting on cloture on the nomination of Justin Smith to be a Circuit Judge for the Eighth Circuit.

1:38 p.m. Majority Leader Thune and Senator Moreno spoke on FISA.

1:29 p.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on FISA and asked UC to take up a one week extension. Senator Wyden objected.
