7:25 The Senate stands adjourned until Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00 am. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume H.R. 4350, NDAA. The senate will recess from 12:30 – 2:15 to allow for the weekly caucus meetings. Roll call votes are possible but none are scheduled at this time.

6:40 pm. Senator Portman spoke on addiction and treatment.

6:30 p.m. Leader Schumer expressed disappointment in the failed cloture vote and spoke on the need to pass NDAA.

5:30 p.m. The Senate is voting on the motion to invoke cloture on substitute  amendment #3867 as modified to the underlying bill H.R.4350. The motion was not agreed to by a vote of 45-51.

5:20 p.m. Senator Inhofe spoke on the need for real debate in the Defense legislation.

5:00 p.m. Senator King spoke on the need to take up the National Defense Bill.

4:55 p.m. Senator Blackburn spoke on the disappointment many Americans feel about the American Recovery Act.

4:30 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on the Democrats trying to ram through legislation this December.

4:30 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke about Hunter Biden and new allegations reported in the news.

4:00 p.m. Leader McConnell spoke about Russian the Russian pipeline and the need to debate legislation.

3:45 p.m. Leader Schumer spoke about the passing of his father over Thanksgiving and the bust December schedule.

3:00 p.m. The Senate resumed consideration of H.R.4350, the National Defense Authorization Act and is currently in a quorum call.

The Senate will meet today at 3:00 p.m., following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R.4350, the National Defense Authorization Act.

On Friday, November 19th, cloture was filed on substitute amendment #3867 as modified and the underlying bill H.R.4350. The filing deadline for first degree amendments is at 3:30 p.m. The second degree amendment filing deadline is one hour before the cloture vote.

At 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on substitute amendment #3867 as modified. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate. If cloture is not invoked, unless further agreement is reached, there would be a roll call vote on cloture on the underlying bill H.R.4350.
