6:50 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned untill 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 28th 2023. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the Bryan nomination post cloture.

At 11:30 a.m. the Senate will hold two roll call votes

  1. Confrimation of Jeffrey Bryan to be United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Margaret M. Garnett to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York

Following the vote on the Garnett nomination, the Senate will recess untill 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus lunches.

At 2:15 p.m. the Senate will hold two roll call votes

  1. Confirmation of Margaret M. Garnett to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Jose Javier Rodriguez to be an Assistant Secretary of Labor.

6:48 p.m. By a vote of 47-42, the Senate invoked cloture on Jeffrey M. Bryan to be United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota.

Senators Barrasso, Fetterman, Graham, Hassan, Markey, Marshall, Ossoff, Risch, Rubio, Warnock, and Warren did not vote

5:30 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jeffrey M. Bryan to be United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota.

5:20 p.m. Senator Klobuchar spoke in support of the Bryan nomination.

4:33 p.m. Senator Blackburn spoke about Anti-Israel propaganda on social media.

4:24 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations

  • Micah W.J. Smith, of Hawaii, to be United States District Judge for the District of Hawaii
  • Jamel Semper, of New Jersey, to be United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey
  • Shanlyn A.S. Park, of Hawaii, to be United States District Judge for the District of Hawaii
  • Irma Carrillo Ramirez, of Texas, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit

3:52 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about the appropriations package, National Security, the southern border and the reauthorization of Section 702.

3:41 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about his Thanksgiving break, aid to Israel/Ukraine, the release of hostages in Gaza and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

3:35 p.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke on government funding and the NDAA.

3:24 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer placed S. 3343 on the calendar under Rule XIV. He then spoke about the passing of his father and the upcoming Senate agenda including the appropriations process, the Presidents National Security Supplemental Package and a upcoming all Senators classified briefing on Ukraine. He also spoke about Senator Tuberville’s military promotions hold and the release of hostages in Gaza.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks, will resume consideration of the nomination of Jeffrey Bryan to be United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a cloture vote on the Bryan nomination.
