9:30 p.m. Majority Leader Thune thanked everyone who supported the Senate during the shutdown. He then filed cloture on the following nominations;

  • Ho Nieh, of Alabama, to be a Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30,2029
  • Donald Korb, of Ohio, to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury.

9:27 p.m. Senator Collins spoke on the passage of the Continuing Resolution.

9:26 p.m. By a vote of 60-40, the Senate passed H.R. 5371, Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026, as amended.

11:32 a.m. S. 3168, a bill to appropriate funds for pay and allowances of Federal employees, contract employees, and members of the Armed Forces during a lapse in appropriations, and for other purposes, received its second reading and was placed on the calendar by Rule XIV.
