7:02 p.m. Senator Merkley spoke on climate change.

6:12 p.m Senators Whitehouse and Reed spoke on climate change.

6:10 p.m. ML McConnell laid out the schedule for Tuesday.   UC that Senate vote on confirmation of Bade nomination at 2:15 p.m.; and on cloture on the motions to proceed to  SJ Res 8 (green new deal) and HR 268 (supplemental appropriations) at 4:00 p.m.  Further UC that the Senate take up and pass S. 863, clarifying the grade and pay of podiatrists at the Veterans Affairs Department.  He then achieved UC that the Senate adjourn following the remarks of Democratic Senators, and next convene at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

6:09 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the Bade nomination by a tally of 77-20.

Senators voting against: 19 Democrats: Baldwin, Blumenthal, Booker, Cantwell, Casey, Cortez-Masto, Gillibrand, Harris, Hirono, Klobuchar, Markey, Menendez, Merkley, Murray, Peters, Schumer, Smith, Stabenow and Wyden; 1 Independent: Sanders.

Senators not voting: 2 Democrats (Udall and Warren); 1 Republican (Inhofe).

5:33 p.m. Roll call vote began on cloture on the Bade nomination.

5:21 p.m. Senator Carper spoke on the green new deal.

5:14 p.m. Senator Isakson spoke on the emergency supplemental.

5:08 p.m. Senator Peters spoke on the green new deal.

4:50 p.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on the Mueller report and the green new deal.  He later asked UC to take up and pass H Con Res 24, making the Mueller report public. Majority Leader McConnell objected.

4:39 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke on the Mueller report and the green new deal.

3:47 p.m. Senator Alexander spoke about the green new deal.

3:32 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on the Mueller report and the green new deal.

3:03 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on the flooding in Iowa.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and will resume consideration of the nomination of Bridget Bade to be a US Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit.

At 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a cloture vote on the Bade nomination.

ML McConnell also filed cloture on motions to proceed to SJ Res 8 (green new deal) and HR 268 (supplemental appropriations).  Those cloture motions will ripen in order, following disposition of the previous item.  Each is subject to up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate, if cloture is invoked.
