6:22 p.m. Senators Blackburn, Lee, Husted, and Moreno spoke about the importance of passing the Save America Act.

6:22 p.m. Senator Barrasso asked that when the Senate adjourns, it stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 following the remarks of his Republican colleagues.

6:21 p.m. By a vote of 43-40, the Senate invoked cloture on Benjamin M. Flowers to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit. This was a party-line vote.

Not voting: Senators Boozman, Britt, Cortez Masto, Cruz, Fetterman, Fischer, Kennedy, McConnell, Moody, Moran, Padilla, Risch, Rosen, Sanders, Shaheen, Smith, and Tuberville.

5:30 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Benjamin Flowers to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

5:09 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on the Trump administration and the Iran war.

4:01 p.m. Senator Lummis spoke on obstruction in the Senate.

3:45 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on immigration and the SAVE Act.

3:30 p.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on the Democratic party platform.

3:20 p.m. Majority Leader Thune completed the following:

  • Moved to proceed to S. 4736 – National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027.
  • H.R. 2913 – The Ukraine Support Act, was placed on the Legislative Calendar under Rule XIV.

Filed cloture on the following nominations:

  • Michael C., Martin to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan.
  • Antonio M. Pozos to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
  • Daniel Mack Traynor to be United States Circuit Judge for the Eighth Circuit.
