7:18 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, post-cloture.

At 11:00 a.m. – two votes:

  1. Confirmation of the Becerra nomination.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of David Seymour Leibowitz to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

Following the cloture vote on the Leibowitz nomination, the Senate will recess for the weekly caucus lunches.

At 2:15 p.m. – two votes:

  1. Confirmation of the Leibowitz nomination (if cloture is invoked).
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Hampton Y. Dellinger to be Special Counsel, Office of Special Counsel, for the term of 5 years.

At 5:45 p.m. – 1 vote:

  1. Confirmation of the Dellinger nomination (if cloture is invoked).

7:15 p.m. By a vote of 56-38, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Republican senators voting in favor: Collins, Graham, Murkowski, Rounds, Rubio, and Scott (FL). Senators not voting: Cramer, Crapo, Fetterman, Ricketts, Risch, and Tillis.

5:22 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

5:15 p.m. Senator Cassidy spoke on Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su.

5:02 p.m. Senator Casey spoke on Black History Month.

4:40 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the future of South Africa and Trump’s recent comments on Putin.

Following the prayer and the pledge, Senator Cardin will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell Address. 

Following the address, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. 

At approximately 5:30 p.m. the Senate will vote on cloture on the Becerra nomination.
