6:38 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will convene at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11. Following leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the Brasher nomination.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for weekly caucus lunches.

McConnell began the Rule IXV process on H.R. 5687, Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief and Puerto Rico Disaster Tax Relief Act 2020, to place it on the calendar.

During today’s session:

Cloture was invoked on the nomination of Andrew Brasher to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit by a vote of 46 to 41.

Majority Leader McConnell has also filed cloture on the following nominations:

  • Joshua Kindred to be US District Judge for the District of Alaska
  • Matthew Schelp to be US District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri.
  • John Kness to be US District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois
  • Philip Halpern to be US District Judge for the Southern District of New York.

6:18 p.m. Senator Enzi spoke about the President’s budget.

6:11 p.m. Senator Brown spoke about the President’s budget.

6:08 p.m. Cloture was invoked on the Brasher nomination 46-41.

5:30 p.m. Roll call vote began on cloture on the nomination of Andrew Brasher to be US Circuit judge for the 11th circuit.

4:17 p.m. Senator Schumer spoke about the President’s budget proposal, impeachment and the Brasher nomination.

4:07 p.m. Senator Hawley spoke about the Kansas City Chiefs.

3:43 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about impeachment.

3:31 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about flooding in Kentucky. He thanked Senate employees who assisted in operations during the impeachment trial.

3:03 p.m. Senator Grassley paid tribute to a retiring Iowa newspaper columnist.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m.

Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Andrew Brasher to be US Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Brasher nomination.
