7:40 p.m. The Senate adjourned.

6:54 p.m. Senator Reed spoke about his recent trip to South Korea and about the situation in North Korea.

6:50 p.m. Senator McConnell secured passage by voice vote of S. Res. 21, concerning violence in Chechnya; S. Res. 75, noting the 100th anniversary of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; and (en bloc) Senate Resolutions 312, 313 and 314.

Senator McConnell also secured consent for the Senate to convene at 10 a.m. on Tuesday; to resume post-cloture consideration of the Barrett nomination; and to recess for weekly policy luncheons from 12:30 p.m.untiol 2:15 p.m.

6:29 p.m. Senator Alexander spoke about health care.

6:28 p.m. By a vote of 54 to 42, the Senate invoked cloture on the Barrett nomination. Democrats voting YEA were Donnelly, Kaine and Manchin.

NOT VOTING were Republican McCain, Democrats McCaskill and Menendez and independent Sanders.

6:06 p.m. Voting began on cloture for the Barrett nomination.

6:05 p.m. By a vote of 84 to 10, the Senate confirmed the McFadden nomination. Voting NAY were Democrats Booker, Brown, Cantwell, Gillibrand, Harris, Markey, Murray, Peters, Warren and Wyden.

NOT VOTING were Republicans Alexander and McCain, Democrats McCaskill, Menendez and Merkley and independent Sanders.

5:30 p.m. Voting began on the McFadden nomination.

3:46 p.m. Senator Nelson spoke about the investigation of the Trump election campaign.

3:26 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about nominations.

3:13 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke about the charges against Paul Manafort and an associate. He spoke about taxes.

3:03 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about judicial nominations. He said the circuit court nominations of Amy Barrett and three others will be confirmed this week.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

Following any Leader remarks , the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Trevor McFadden to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

At 5:30 p.m., the Senate will conduct 2 roll call votes:

1. Confirmation of the McFadden nomination
2. Cloture on the nomination of Amy Barrett to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit.
