The Senate met at 11:20 a.m. for a pro forma session. Senator Smith presided, no business was conducted.
The Senate returns on Tuesday, January 18th at 12 noon. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will begin consideration of the House Message to accompany H.R.5746, the Legislative Vehicle for Voting Rights Legislation.
After the message is laid down, Senator Schumer is expected to make a motion to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R.5746, with an amendment; and file cloture on the motion.
On Wednesday, January 19th, the Senate is expected to proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on voting rights legislation.
There will be no roll call votes on Tuesday. The Senate may also consider nominations towards the end of next week.
