6:33 p.m. ML McConnell took steps under rule 14 to bring the following legislation to the floor, H.R. 1551, advanced nuclear power facilities; H.R. 2372, VETERAN Act; and H.R. 2579, Broader Options for Americans Act.

ML McConnell also asked u.c. to consider H.R. 582, an act to amend the communications act of 1934, the bill was passed by u.c.

ML McConnell also asked that the Senate convene at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday and following Leader remarks the Senate be in a period of morning business until noon. The Senate will recess from 12:30-2:15 for weekly caucus lunches.

6:30 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Iancu nomination 94-0. Senators not voting: Alexander, Cochran, Heinrich, McCain, Peters, and Toomey.

5:30 p.m. The Senate began voting on the Amdrei Iancu nomination to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director for the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.

4:45 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about the Amtrak accidents in Crozet, Virginia and in South Carolina. He spoke about nominations and tax reform.

4:22 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about government funding.

4:05 p.m. Senator Leahy spoke about the spending talks.

3:24 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke about the pending deal to extend federal spending.

3:15 p.m. Senator Hatch spoke about intellectual property.

 The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and proceed to a period of morning business.

At 5:00 p.m., the Senate will proceed to Executive Session in order to consider the nomination of Andrei Iancu to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

At 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Iancu nomination.
