11:19 a.m. Senator Wyden called up S. 4444 – a bill to extend the surveillance law known as Section 702, for three weeks, and to require the declassification of the FISA Court’s recent ruling on Section 702. He then asked unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S. 4444; Senator Cotton objected.
10:49 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on internet cables under the ocean.
10:36 a.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke about inflation, the Iran war, immigration, nominations and Homeland Security funding.
10:20 a.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on immigration. He filed cloture on the nomination of Kevin Warsh to be a member of the Federal Reserve Board and additionally on Warsh to be Chair.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.
At 11:30 a.m. the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res. 690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of certain nominations on the Executive Calendar. If cloture is invoked on the resolution all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader no earlier than Friday, May 1st.
At 1:45 p.m. the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to discharge from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee S.J.Res. 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. Further roll call votes may be possible during Thursday’s Senate session.
