11:50 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke on immigration.

10:45 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on DHS and ICE.

10:34 a.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on appropriations and DHS funding.

10:22 a.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on the war with Iran. He then placed the following bill on the calendar via Rule XIV: H.R. 1689, an act to require the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate Haiti for temporary protected status.

10:00 a.m. The Senate is now in session.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. to allow for weekly caucus meetings.

The Senate is expected to consider a motion to discharge S.J.Res.114, a joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. Votes have not been scheduled but are expected during Tuesday’s session.
