6:20 p.m. The Senate adjourned and will next convene on Tuesday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. Following leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Victor Mercado to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

A vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Mercado nomination is expected sometime Tuesday morning as well as a confirmation vote on Mercado at 2:15 p.m. and confirmation on the Miller nomination at 4:00 p.m. (if cloture is invoked on those nominations).

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for weekly policy lunches.
