6:48 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 19th 2025. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business.

At 12:00 noon the Senate will vote on the confirmation of Ho Nieh to be a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Following the Nieh confirmation vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus lunches.

At 2:15 p.m. Senator Lummis is expected to make a motion to proceed to S. J. Res. 89, A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to “Buffalo Field Office Record of Decision and Approved Resource Management Plan Amendment”. The vote on the Motion to Proceed to S.J. Res. 89 is expected at approximately 2:20 p.m.

A vote on the Motion to Proceed to S. J. Res. 76 (Schiff), A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to “Extension of Deadlines in Standards of Performance for New, Reconstructed, and Modified Sources and Emissions Guidelines for Existing Sources: Oil and Natural Gas Sector Climate Review Final Rule”, is also expected during Wednesday session.

6:45 p.m. By a vote of 65-32, the Senate invoked cloture on nomination of Ho Nieh to be a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

  • Democrat Senators voting in favor – Coons, Duckworth, Heinrich, Kelly, King (I), Klobuchar, Ossoff, Padilla, Reed, Warner, Warnock, Welch and Whitehouse voted in favor.
  • Senators Fetterman, Hawely, and Sanders did not vote

5:33 p.m. The Senate began voting on cloture on the nomination of Ho Nieh to be a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

5:29 p.m. Senator Gallego spoke on the victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

5:20 p.m. Senator Merkley spoke on the victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

5:18 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on the Epstein files. He then received unanimous consent for the Senate to pass H.R. 4405, The Epstein Files Transparency Act, when the Senate receives H.R. 4405 from the House, which was passed by the House this morning.

4:52 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on foster care and his 45th annual 99 county meetings in Iowa.

3:47 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on the O’Hare airport and immigration.

3:18 p.m. Senator Merkley spoke in support of H.R. 4405.

3:13 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on the recently House-passed H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

3:06 p.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on the effects of the government shutdown.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on cloture on the nomination of Ho Nieh, Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
