UC that the Senate return on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and following any Leader remarks, resume consideration of Executive Calendar #119, Michelle Bowman to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:
1) Cloture on the Bowman nomination.

2) Cloture on Executive Calendar #129, Edward Walsh to be Ambassador to Ireland.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Senate will proceed to one vote:

1) Cloture on Executive Calendar #144, James O’Neill to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:

1) Confirmation of the Bowman nomination. 2) Confirmation of the Walsh nomination.

6:06 p.m. Passed by UC: S. 201, regarding research into cancer mortality of members of the armed air forces; and H Con Res 24 celebrating the birth of King Kamehameha.

5:50 p.m. By a vote of 72-26, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Dale Marks to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

  • Democratic and independent senators voting in favor: Baldwin, Coons, Cortez Masto, Duckworth, Fetterman, Gallego, Hassan, Hirono, Kaine, Kim, King (I), Klobuchar, Reed, Rosen, Schiff, Shaheen, Slotkin, Warner, and Warnock.

4:59 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the confirmation of the nomination of Dale Marks to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

4:10 p.m. Senator Rosen spoke on the Job Corps Program.

3:27 p.m. By a vote of 66-28, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Dale Marks to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

2:51 p.m. By a vote of 59-36, the Senate confirmed Allison Hooker to be an Under Secretary of State (Political Affairs). Democratic senators voting in favor: Coons, Fetterman, Gallego, Hassan, Kaine, Kelly, King, Shaheen, Slotkin, and Warner. Senators not voting: Daines, Graham, Lee, Ossoff, and Sullivan.

2:15 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Allison Hooker to be an Under Secretary of State (Political Affairs).

12:49 p.m. The Senate stands in recess until 2:15 p.m.

12:48 p.m. By a vote of 59-37, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Allison Hooker to be an Under Secretary of State (Political Affairs). Democratic senators voting in favor: Coons, Gallego, Hassan, Kaine, Kelly, King, Shaheen, Slotkin, and Warner. Senators not voting: Graham, Moody, Ossoff, and Sullivan.

12:11 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Allison Hooker to be an Under Secretary of State (Political Affairs).

12:10 p.m. By a vote of 51-46, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Michael Duffey to be Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. It was a party line vote with Senators Graham, Ossoff, and Sullivan not voting.

11:31 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of Michael Duffey to be Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment.

11:25 a.m. Senator Hickenlooper spoke on the attack in Boulder, Colorado.

11:06 a.m. Senator Markey discussed AI regulation and states rights.

10:53 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about the Genuis Act and scams.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of  the nomination of Michael Duffey to be Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, post-cloture.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. – two votes:

1. Confirmation of the Duffey nomination

2. Cloture on the nomination of Allison Hooker to be an Under Secretary of State (Political Affairs).

Following the vote on the Hooker nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. – two votes:

1. Confirmation of the Hooker nomination (if cloture is invoked).

2. Cloture on the nomination of Dale Marks to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

If cloture is invoked on the Marks nomination, there will be up to 2 hours of debate followed by a roll call vote on confirmation.
