The Senate will convene today 11:30 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and proceed to the consideration of Olivia Trusty to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Olivia Trusty to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025.
Senator Padilla will then be recognized to speak for up to 20 minutes and following his remarks the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for weekly caucus meetings.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. the Senate will hold two roll call votes
- Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Olivia Trusty to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years from July 1, 2025 (Reappointment).
- Confirmation of the nomination of Gary Andres to be an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services.
If cloture is invoked on the Trusty nomination, at 4:30 p.m. The Senate is expected to vote on the following:
- Confirmation of the nomination of Olivia Trusty to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2025.
- Passage of S.1582, a bill to provide for the regulation of payment stablecoins, and for other purposes, as amended.
If cloture is invoked on the nomination of Olivia Trusty to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission for a term of five years from July 1, 2025, the Senate will vote on confirmation at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
