11:48 a.m. By a vote party line vote of 50-38 S.J. Res. 7 disapproving the rule submitted by the FCC regarding “Addressing the Homework Gap Through the E-Rate Program” passed. Not voting: Senators Cortez-Masto, Duckworth, Fetterman, Gallego, Klobuchar, Lummis, Murphy, Padilla, Risch, Shaheen, Smith, and Wicker.

11:18 a.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the passage of S.J. Res. 7 disapproving the rule submitted by the FCC regarding “Addressing the Homework Gap Through the E-Rate Program.”

11:08 a.m. Senator Ernst spoke on the Small Business Administration and then asked unanimous consent for the Senate to move to confirm Dr. Casey Mulligan to be Chief Counsel for the Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy. Senator Markey spoke in opposition and then objected.

10:51 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke in opposition of the nomination of Ed Martin to be the U.S. District Attorney for the District of Columbia.

10:43 a.m. Senator Barrasso spoke on his meetings with Wisconsin veterans.

10:31 a.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on taxes. He then spoke about antisemitism.

10:16 a.m. Majority Leader Thune placed S. 1668 on the calendar under Rule 14, a bill to amend chapter 131 of Title 5 of the US Code to prohibit the President, Vice President, Members of Congress, and individuals appointed to Senate-confirmed positions from issuing, sponsoring, or endorsing certain financial instruments, and for other purposes. He then spoke on cryptocurrency.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. At that time, resume consideration of S.J. Res. 7 disapproving the rule submitted by the FCC regarding “Addressing the Homework Gap Through the E-Rate Program”.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. the Senate will proceed to a series of two votes:

  1. Passage of S.J. Res. 7 disapproving the rule submitted by the FCC regarding “Addressing the Homework Gap Through the E-Rate Program”.
  2. Passage of H.J. Res 60, disapproving the rule submitted by the National Park Service relating to “Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Motor Vehicles”.
